Special Education Teacher Apprenticeship Program

UIC’s Special Education Teacher Apprenticeship Program is a 25-hour, fully online non-degree pathway designed for individuals with a bachelor’s degree who want to earn their Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement. This program equips future special educators with the skills and knowledge needed to provide data-driven, evidence-based, and individualized instruction to students with disabilities.

Through a combination of coursework and school-based mentorship experiences, participants will develop expertise in instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment techniques that support students with disabilities. The program is structured to provide real-world application, ensuring graduates are prepared to create inclusive and effective learning environments.
