SPAN 440 ISBE Endorsement

SPAN 440 Theory and Methods in Teaching Heritage Speakers is taught online each fall semester. The course will count for 60 PD hours of ISBE PD credit.

In this course, students will review theories in bilingual development, sociolinguistics, and language teaching in order to understand best practices in, and develop coherent materials for, teaching Spanish to heritage language learners. This course is taught in Spanish.

Students must be pre-approved by the department to enroll and should contact Angela Betancourt-Ciprian at abetan3@uic.edu to inquire.
