Refund and Withdrawal Policy for Non-Credit Programs

All course registration fees must be paid before the UIC Extended Campus can confirm a seat for you.

We recognize students may occasionally need to cancel their registration. To withdraw from a course, you must make a written request to our office via email or fax: (312) 413-9730. Refunds will be issued per the schedule below:

UIC EC notified in writing:

At least 15 business days before the course start date
100% refund, minus a $25 administrative fee

Between 5-14 business days before the course start date
75% refund

Fewer than 5 business days before the course start date, but before 5 p.m. Central Time on the last business day before the course start date
50% refund


We regret that we cannot provide any refunds for withdrawal requests received after 5 p.m. Central Time on the business day before class begins.  Non-attendance or non-participation does not constitute withdrawal.

Courses are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollments are not met. In the event UIC Extended Campus cancels a course, students will be notified immediately and provided a full refund. UIC Extended Campus also reserves the right to cancel or reschedule individual class meetings as necessary, for example, due to instructor illness.

We understand that employers occasionally register staff in a course. At any time prior to the first class meeting, the employer may name a substitute for a registered staff member who is unable to attend. Companies must call, write or email us to report the change.
