Rod Shrader, Denton Thorne Chair in Entrepreneurship, Professor of Management and Director of UIC’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Rod founded and leads UIC’s TechVentures Program, which leads interdisciplinary teams of graduate students through the process of creating and launching high technology startups. His research on commercialization of university-owned technologies and the internationalization of new ventures has been published in premier academic journals. Rod has won several prestigious awards for teaching and service and has helped launch 10 successful high technology businesses including one born-global company. Rod earned his Ph.D. in strategic management from Georgia State University in 1996.
