Comments: This course is part of the Department of Disability and Human Development’s Certificate in Assistive Technology. Although you do not have to be a participant in the certificate program to take this course, students interested in applying it towards the Certificate in Assistive Technology are encouraged to visit the department’s web site. Description: This is a fully online course that focuses on the assessment of seating and positioning for functional use of a manual or powered wheelchair for children and adults with physical disabilities. Assessment procedures, seating and positioning technology selection, funding and applicable research are also covered.

Prerequisites: Course offered to Graduate ONLY

DHD 440 – Introduction to Assistive Technology: Principles and Practice or consent of the instructor.
