SPED 410 – Exceptional Learners

Program: Special Education Teacher Apprenticeship Program; Learning Behavior Specialist I Program; Post-Master of Social Work Professional Educator License, School Social Worker Endorsement Program

Dates: 5/19/25 – 6/12/25 or 5/10/25 – 6/12/25

Credits: 3 graduate semester credit hours

Tuition/Fees: $530 per semester credit hour tuition; $562 per semester credit hour tuition for Post MSW PEL students

Description: Fulfills requirements for Illinois House Bill 150. Addresses the psychology of, identification of, and methods of instructor for exceptional learners served under all categories recognized by federal law.

Extra Coursework: 20 hours of fieldwork is required.

Prerequisites: Course offered to Graduate ONLY

ED 210 — The Educative Process or ED 421 — Advanced Educational Psychology, or consent of the instructor.
